Though not Leh, it’s not lesser – It's Zanskar!

There’s saying, that whatever you may do, plan-replan, if He doesn’t invite, you just can’t pay Him a visit. So, it happened again with me. As blogged earlier, I couldn’t embark on the highly coveted Ladakh ride with Bisons in last July. I was waiting, accumulating leaves (and money too), planning, preparing for the ride for last one year and just couldn’t go. So, I re-planned it with a college senior and bullet enthusiast. Fingers crossed, not shared with anybody, tickets done, final planning started, route done and it cancelled. Partner got his leaves cancelled and thus the plan again crashed. I thought to ride solo, but recent cloud-bursts and landslides, that are rather common as the monsoon dies, killed much of my insane enthusiasm. I have been to Spiti eons back, and it seemed that a visit to North of it just not to happen soon... Shot somewhere in Spiti Valley, Keylong in 2007 At that time, I saw a retweet by Deepak Sir ( @Magic_Eye ).  Dheeraj of DeViL on WheeL...

Running for a Cause... 2012

In a few hours, I would be attempting my first Half Marathon in the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 2012 . As planned, I was able to participate in Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 2012, and also earned a sacred rank of 786   among  some 9900 runners in the Category. I did register last year, but couldn’t participate as had to start the ride to RM-East on the same day the event was scheduled. Last year I registered as an Isha Vidya NGO’s member for the Half Marathon, but couldn’t actually raise a single penny. This year, I am participating as an individual and mostly due to time-constraints (!) I couldn’t get in touch with Isha Vidya team while preparation or other charity events.  My next year's aim is not only to complete Half Marathon within 1hr 45 mins, or participate in Full Marathon, but also to break my limitations, and actually generate some funds for the cause I could never be able to support in real sense. Here I am republishing my...

A walk to remember (Version 2 : Love)

Edition 2.1 I never thought to visit you Kissing you was more than a fantasy Walking with you on the University roads  I felt    your awkwardness e very time Receiving  parents'  calls Lying ‘m roaming with friends Feeding the fishes of that pond Trying to be cozy in my arms Sitting closely on the rickshaw Clinging to find some support Stretching my arms to pull you up Visiting that old temple on the Hills Thinking where to visit when it fell dark Dissolving when found that park Learning the first kiss through lips Promising it truly, little dramatically  I remember everything, the walk we had Everything that happened that day Alas, I remember everything Alas - ‘coz it’s difficult to be that way…. (P.S.: I'm not a poet, just tried to convert  what it'd be felt when it's first time in  to some words. Edition# refers to amendments this poem has seen :) Related articles A Walk to Remember (Version 1: Friendship) (punitdube...

For him....

I don't find you impressive in looks, Neither do I find you having charming tricks, I don't find you too good with words, Neither do I find you too brave with swords. Yet I find in you, everything I had wished for, I find my Heart beating for you! I find my words crazy for you, I find my eyes searching for you, I find myself longing for you Yet I find in you, everything I had looked for, Oh God! I find in you, everything I had wished for! Some would say, 'What is it worth if I can't tell you', Others say, 'Go tell, may be he's longing', I could have said, but, have fear in my heart, So, it's better that the silence prevails, Its better if I only follow your trails! ~ from Her diary

Running for a cause….

Few years back, I came to know about Mumbai Marathon. Last year, I couldn’t make it! I tried to at least be the part of Navi Mumbai Marathon, but that too didn’t work, thanks to a pre-planned tour and also an-all-of-sudden announcement of the event. This year I was all ready, all prepared waiting enthusiastically with all my senses open, for the Mumbai Marathon 2011. And, to sure my participation I applied personally vis-à-vis through an NGO too. My personal application rejected, and so were my hopes. Then one day, I heard from the NGO guys, that the chance for participation in the India’s most known and revered Marathon are still alive! And, I was like hell yeah! J Well, to apply through NGO was, ahhh let me confess, almost purely …... I didn't know much about the organization prior to application. That organization is Isha-Vidya Foundation, run by Isha Foundation which is a non-religious, no-profit, public service organization. I came in touch with Isha Foundation t...

Train, Tractor & Hungama: Masala to a Complete Drama

And, now I was scratching my head, had it really happened? Had I really suffered the s ā f ā r (tour) from Mumbai to Varanasi by a Tractor, with a few dozens of people, fowls and vegetables?                 "It started 3months ago, when I reserved an AC-II tier railway ticket from Mumbai to Varanasi . I felt real luck, when I got a confirmed ticket in the wedding months of June-July, and not that RAC or waiting thing. The day finally came, and with friends, I went to Dadar station to catch the train.
