काफी दिनों बाद कुछ लिखने कहने को ... (Felt to write, speak it out...after a long while...)

Being Social!

Interestingly, I’m publishing this post on the time when probably the whole World is riding on the wave of Google+; and, rather entertainingly I am well included in this World! Months back, a realization occurred to me when an email popped up into my Inbox. To: Punit Subject: orkut - Mr X. has left you a new Scrap! Body: Mr X.: You have received a scrap from your friend Mr X. “Hapy Bday dear” View your scrapbook l view mr X.’s profile -           Stop sending my emails -           Change my email options -           Help Center I was something , in some state that can’t be actually described by terms like amazed, shocked, shattered, sad etc. I wasn’t ready to understand what’s happening? Mr. X has been a very close mate, amongst my best friends, for last 5years; and on my best day what I received from him was just a Scrap, not even an SMS, call wou...

Thought thought all the time, not a word to jot...

(Caution: Author is developing a style to write seriously on lighter notes. Please don’t take this piece lightly!) These days’ I am feeling quite privileged having a state, some greats call as, the  Writer’s Block ! As the  Webster of the Era , widely known as  Wikipedia , suggests  Writer’s Block  is  a condition in which an author fails to produce new work. This also relates to the condition when an Author couldn’t recognize his own work’s worth and underestimates it . The Thinker (Courtesy: Wikipedia-User: Andrew Horne ) I am regular guy learning to write pieces; comparing me with the ones who have proved themselves in professional writing is far from imagination.  But the condition I’m in right now has at least something to do with the big words, the Writer’s Block. CONDITION:   I’m just not able to sit calm, sip coffee, have some water, eat pistachios, crack nuts, listen to some music, and write some piece!  Hmmmm…it’s not t...

What not is Beautiful in this Beautiful World!?

What not is Beautiful in this Beautiful World!? A picture from NASA astronaut Douglas Wheelock's collection Have you ever tried to recall the moment you cried for first in this big world, laying in your mom’s lap? Wasn’t her tear drops were the Most Beautiful thing you had ever seen (if you remember) or you would have to see ever? All good mothers are addicted to their newborn babies (Courtesy:  The Time.com   Quote of the Day) The pride on your father’s face looking blank at a ‘newborn you’, overwhelmed with emotions or probably exhausted with the emotions. Wasn’t it the best sight of the beautiful world you had just stepped in? Benjamin Khor (right) and his father, Edward celebrate  Bronze medal at Double trap shooting event at CWG 2010 (Courtesy: Google) I don’t remember those moments either, but giving mere a thought leaves me goose-fleshed ! The life we are blessed with is full of surprises, happier and awful too. What’s common with all the surprises...

Talking Ad(d)s! (Part 1: The Great Indian Chaddhi-Baniyan-Campaign)

Since a long time, TV commercials or advertisings or simply ads have been more watchable to me than the ghostly serials around them. Brought up through the changing dimensions of televiewing and off course advertising, I feel to have developed a taste for them. Though it may be very personal taste; in most of the cases, I found the people agreeing to my likes and dislikes on the advertising matter. Watching, observing, thinking and criticizing ( the very Indian way ) I always felt to write about contemporary advertisements on Indian tube. So, here I’m writing my first post, Talking Ad(d)s ! Justifying the title, Ads is for advertising that are made to Talk with the audience to Ad d more to their conscience about a particular product. So, it’s Ta lking Ad(d)s ! I will try to recall/talk about few ads/ad-series I liked or hated, with a few reasons and expectations that those Mighty souls who have landed to these posts somehow will share their feelings in form of comments at bottom ...

A Walk to Remember (Version 1: Friendship)

“ Abe, CAT results are out, where are you ” “ Saale, fod diya! I just saw the results, am in Cyber café, Lanka. Scored 98! What’s your? ” “ I too checked, it’s 90! Chal, meet me at Dept, ask Vivert to be there too; we’ll celebrate. ” It was our final year of Graduation course at Banaras Hindu University, and most of us have given the Common Admission Test to IIMs or CAT. Few were sincere, most, including me, were testing there caliber. Prasoon was though the only person who was determined to get in to some good MBA college, and had prepared hard for the last two years. Vivert didn’t apply and Naveen was still weighing the MBA degree against the MSc-Geology degree. I was like let’s appear and see what aptitude (!) I carry :p Whatever and howsoever we prepared for the D-day, results were more or less as expected. Prasoon scored 98, I 90 and we never came to know what other guys had. It was 6th January, 2006; just another day of winters in Banaras. As the results were ou...

From the Desk of a Not-so-Known Designer!

Enough is Enough! There is a saying that Fashion repeats itself every 20-30 years ! But still there are a few things that I seriously don’t want to be repeated. Following is a non-comprehensive short-list of so called fashion- eshtyle that I badly don’t like: 1.        Sadhna cut---Eeeew! I can’t remember any other girl other than Sadhna ji, on whom this Wow (?) style suited! Especially, on girls with small faces-it’s awful! (Sorry!) My niece-I'm struggling to get her some other haircut!

Train, Tractor & Hungama: Masala to a Complete Drama

And, now I was scratching my head, had it really happened? Had I really suffered the s ā f ā r (tour) from Mumbai to Varanasi by a Tractor, with a few dozens of people, fowls and vegetables?                 "It started 3months ago, when I reserved an AC-II tier railway ticket from Mumbai to Varanasi . I felt real luck, when I got a confirmed ticket in the wedding months of June-July, and not that RAC or waiting thing. The day finally came, and with friends, I went to Dadar station to catch the train.

Khali DImag Ki Khurafat~~Anubhav

I started thinking about compiling the Year 2009, the way I saw it! The way I experienced it! But, couldn't! Just not because, I couldn't find good time to jot down all the events and happenings of the 2009; also cause I was not finding it easy to gather every moment of the Year of 365 days, x24 hours....;D On the very last day of the Year 2009, we, all the guys of M.Sc.-Geology Batch 2006-08 of BHU , received this mail from one of our classmate, who tried to express everything happened with the Batch people poetically ! He's not a learnt/proven/acclaimed poet, but he did touched our souls! It may not carry any value to anyone, but for our Batch....it did some magic! Magic of Nostalgia! So, I thought to share this precious poem with all my net-mates! With the due help of Google Transliteration, I converted the Hindi-poem scripted in roman, into Devanagari! खाली दिमाग की खुराफात जैसे ही कल का सूरज आसमान पर आएगा बादलों से कूद कर नया साल आ जाएगा, कुछ नयी कहानी हों...
