Diet'Twitter Revolution....

Hmmmm.... I was thinking a good start of this post, but cudn’t. Sorry, but be sure you’ll end with something good at end....:-)
I started tweeting a few months back. The first thing that I came to know about Twitter is that ‘anyone’ can follow (or be friend) anybody! Next things were, you tweet something good and get followed by spammers, pornbots, and poor mktg’bots!
Spending more time on Twitter, help me exploring it...I came to kno about many a Non-celeb Twit’erbities, being followed by 1000s to millions of followers. I discovered the use of participation in #trends. Through some avid twipples like @HNatarajan, @anddjournal, etc tweetverse etiquettes were learnt by me.
One thing that I really noticed is that including anything reltd with money, mktg etc makes the twit’bio repulsive. A lot of articles are available online about how to be good to be followed sincerely by your followers, what are the do’s and don’ts one should adhere to earn a good follower number, 10 things you should never/always do on twitter, and all the blah blah blah.... so, clearly this post is not about any gyan-spreading! It’s @TataDocomo thing that I’m goin to talk about today.
To start with, let’s have a ltl knowledge abt TataDocomo...Tata is well-known in India...for everything...salt to steel, IT to telecom, gold to clothing! In fact, my first personal fone was also TataIndicom that I bought because I wanted some free airtime, good handset, and cheap SMS! And, I was not at all betrayed ,,,,it gave me everything with a really admiring voice quality. Now m on another service, though my old no. is still in use, by my parents. And, Docomo, as I browsed online, is a Japanese telecom giant, abbreviated for "Do Communications over the Mobile network", derived from a Japanese word dokomo meaning “everywhere”!
So, they, TataDocomo together, launched a really impressive online campaign (contest) as Dietalk on Twitter, Orkut, Facebook, G/Y/MS IMs together jus within a few months of their launch in India. The motto was to promote thr USP i.e Diet-Talk or “pay per letter” SMService! And, viola they did it!

The campaign is a blast on Twitter. Since 2nd June 2009, when they joined it, they have earned about 3800 followers, and have already been listed on 29 lists! The reason goes to sincere mktg thru #Dietalk campaign, which was launched on 19th October and earned them about 2000 followers, rather dedicated dietalkers within 2 weeks! Wow! The trend #dietalk is always within the top 10 Hot Indian Topics since 19th October, as per http://www.90di.com/twitter/2009-10-29/, only wice out of top 5, with over 900 tweets each day!
I remember an article, which I came through a few days back only, on the failed mktg campaign of some company through twitter because they cudnt get the human touch with their followers. Now, here is the case where some tweeple (@tam007) is daily reminding @tatadocomo abt the day’s result and is being instantaneously answered, in fact 30mins delay by tam is even noticed by @tatadocomo and is being twitted abt with a smile! @tatadocomo has to increase the campaign/contest period on popular demand. Today is a very great example of the bond they got with their followers, when they have to revert back their decision of only two-winners for the next 3days,

And, not only on Twitter, they are appraised on Facebook and Orkut also, with over 13,000 fans on FB and about 26,000 members on Orkut.

The best one can learn from this great campaign of TataDocomo is the Service-People bond! Using a social networking site, effectively and strategically is greatly exemplified by this spl case!

Not, only this campaign achieved success in bonding with the people who will be using it, but also started a young-casual though-revolution of Diet’Talking, talking effectvly in lesser characters! I myself find it difficult, but interesting!

Okay, for now...going for dinner with some Dietalk,,,cant do dieting yr! ;D

Trekking Ghansoli Gawli Dev (Parsik) Hill

It’s been there for geological ages, we have been looking at it for last about 4years and I have been planning to trek it since a long time. Finally, few weeks back, we trekked the Ghansoli Hill.

Ghansoli Hill is located at the eastern boundary of Ghansoli town, behind our office complex at RCP. The hill or better hillock is a part of small range that separates Kalyan and Navi Mumbai towns. A search on Google Map returns with a name Parsik Hill for it, though there is one more rather famous Parsik Hill in Navi Mumbai. We also found a NewsArticle, that talks about NMMC plans to develop Nature Awareness Centre at this hills and calls it Gawli Dev Hill. Here, we would be calling it Ghansoli Hill. I asked my colleague about it and he readily agreed. The very next Sunday we did it with another friend. We weren't aware of the route. All we knew is that a Central Road runs along the western edge of the hill and can be reached through the Vashi-Mhape road. We later found that there’s a Bus…

Riders of the Nation of a Billion - Dimensions and Horizons

Incidentally I wrote a post of my tranformation from just around the corner corporate junkie into a Rider (for sure, still gradually) few days ago. Now, here are the Indibloggers with a Contest for the Bikers of the Nation with Castrol guys.

When you look at the scenario of Biking in a general sense, you would be attracted by the road-rowdies and rookies who ride to spread nuisance and are mostly acknowledged for their deeds by the newspaper. Hooligans may be the right word. But, once you get involved with the passion, you would be able to see how the passion of Biking, or rather Riding, is evolving in the country where 2-wheelers over-power 4-wheelers by scores of galactic height, but have never earned respect on highways just coz they are the smallest-speeding machine there! I would try to let you through the Indian Riders tale, so that you  be able to appreciate how the riders of the Country are working, though in a segregative way, to evolve the Bikers’ Code for the Nation of…

What Travelling earns....People?

When travelling is your passion, you are bound to see a lot in your life, meet a thousand through your journey. I realised a day back only that most of us love to write what we did on our trip, what places we visited, how was the road, the hotel, the people. The People! Do we actually write about the people we met, or the men or women we spend a good time with?
I did meet few people on rides, while flying or on train journey who left a deep impression on me. But, never actually took pain, if any, to jot down about them. Just them and there stories. So, in this post I will be talking about the People only, a few of the few meeting with whom I still cherish.
If you RIDE a Bullet, you ought to know him There are many a people all over India and World, who love to ride. Few of them love to brag about there rides, most are just concerned about there rides. I belong to the earlier class, ride and blow your own trumpet! This person, about whom I’m writing this section, religiously define the la…
