Do NOT use Mobile-phone while Driving - You may never get a Chance to correct it

The last word is yet to be out on what caused Tuesday's train accident near Arakkonam on Tuesday that killed 10 people and injured more than 65 others. But reports that H.Rajkumar, the motorman of the EMU that crashed into a passenger train, was talking on his mobile immediately before the crash have shocked railway officials and doctors treating him. .. – ToI, Sep 2011  Dont drive Intexticated...it may be your last SMS When my colleague rejected to pay any attention to my pleads to not text or dial/receive a call while driving, I thought to share these few findings and advertisement campaigns from the sane big commercial houses and not just insane over-cautious people like me.

चौबाइन चाची की मिसाल

‘ कुछ लोग अईसे ही भीगे रहते हैं कशमकश में, दुविधा में’ ‘पर, अम्मा कुछ लोग तो बड़े आराम से फैसले कर लेते और खुश भी रहते हैं.’ ‘हाँ, हाँ, कुछ लोग सूखे माने दुविधा-मुक्त भी रहते हैं’ चौबाइन चाची ने हमेशा की तरह सिक्के के दोनों पहलुओं को सामने रखते हुए कहा. चौबाइन चाची का एक अपना तरीका था मिसाल दे के बात समझाने का. अठन्नी के सिंघाड़ा से डेढ़-सौ रुपया की साईकिल और पांच पैसा के टाफी से ले पांच रुपया के सरफ तक कुछ भी, चाची बड़ी आराम से प्रयोग कर लेती थीं मिसाल देने में. ये कहानी तब की जब गए रात कोई पौने आठ बजे ननकू भैया आफिस से घर आये. गांव-देहात में सात-आठ बजे ही रात कहला जाती. तो, कहानी कुछ ऐसी है की उस दिन जब ननकू भैया पौने-आत्ब बजे लौटे, तो बड़े ही अनमने-अटपटे से थे. ऐसे ननकू भैया बड़े ही मस्त मिजाज के प्राणी हैं, हमेश खिलखिल करते रहते नहीं तो बकर-बकर करते रहना तो उनकी आदत में ही है. पर, वो रात कुछ अलग थी. सीधे-सादे ननकू भैया बड़े ही शांत और खोये-खोये थे. चाची हमारी बड़ी ही समझदार हैं, वैसे तो खोद-खाद के किस्सा तुरंत जान लेती हिनहिन, पर कब चुपचाप रहना चाहिए ये कोई उनसे सीखे...

Talking Ad(d)s! (Part 1: The Great Indian Chaddhi-Baniyan-Campaign)

Since a long time, TV commercials or advertisings or simply ads have been more watchable to me than the ghostly serials around them. Brought up through the changing dimensions of televiewing and off course advertising, I feel to have developed a taste for them. Though it may be very personal taste; in most of the cases, I found the people agreeing to my likes and dislikes on the advertising matter. Watching, observing, thinking and criticizing ( the very Indian way ) I always felt to write about contemporary advertisements on Indian tube. So, here I’m writing my first post, Talking Ad(d)s ! Justifying the title, Ads is for advertising that are made to Talk with the audience to Ad d more to their conscience about a particular product. So, it’s Ta lking Ad(d)s ! I will try to recall/talk about few ads/ad-series I liked or hated, with a few reasons and expectations that those Mighty souls who have landed to these posts somehow will share their feelings in form of comments at bottom ...
