Qvendo - Interesting as the Name!

Ghumakkar is too a victim to the wine called 'Shopping'

Qvendo @ IndiBlogger: Luxury at its best!

With an active-account on Bazee.com of yesteryears aka eBay since 2004, Yebhi, MyDala (since its first deal), Snapdeal, Brandmile, Fashion&You, Flipkart, Infibeam, HS18 and many such other online-shops, I believe and sure of being an Online-shop freak! In fact in my office too, I work as a part-time consultant to newbies on site-selection, fetching deal and as an example that you can even buy shorts on open online shop without trying it in the closed trial room!

When Indiblogger came up with this new contest-cum-launch party of Qvendo-The Luxury private Shopping Club, I geared up (!) for a post for three reasons – I love shopping, haven’t been part of Indiblogger contests for a long time, and last-and-surely-the-best for a taste of real-luxury items :P

Qvendo, name itself attracted me! A friend told me about his experience of Vijay Mallya’s luxury mall, where he spent a few hours roaming without recognizing a single brand. He never shared with me what he bought there. Well, similar was my feeling when I learnt this Qvendo, strangely tempting! (Someone please confirm its pronunciation, isn't it 'Kve-N-Do')

Before I go ahead with my luxury-shopping list worth Rs 50,000 Rs 75,000, I must write about the way I go with and my expectations from an online shop. As, I told I have been into online shopping since 2004, but I actually got active in last 3years with the advent of best in the class online shops which not only provide best deal but also safe and secure delivery. So, secure-transaction/delivery and deal aka price are simply the two things that I first look on an e-shop. Most of the times I am sure about what I am to buy, otherwise I buy what is tempting me the most. Here then comes the variety, more options a shop offers, more I am lured to strike a deal. Fourth is shipping charges. I don’t know why exactly, but I don’t like to pay for shipping! On eBay the criteria I mostly use to sort out the best deal is ‘Lowest price+shipping’. Final criteria is promptness of customer care, if you are not answering my very first mail, not able to pick the call; you are losing me and surely my recommendations, which may not have a great voice but do influence the circle of guys around me. To sum up - security on transaction/delivery, price, variety, shipping and customer care - are the things which decide my willingness to do the deal.

Now me on Qvendo. First thing, telling again, I got attracted towards the name itself. With the cases like Skagen, Mont Blanc and easily Lieutenant, I am sceptical if howsoever I’ll pronunciate – would it be the correct way!? Well, it’s my third on-invitation shopping club, and also the second that I joined through Indiblogger. I created an id using Indiblogger’s invitation, and had a quick look to the site.

On my parameters, I found it all-perfect except that shipping charge. Going one by one, site is certified secure (Wirecard AG, Germany’s leading international payment gateway), deals are definitely lucrative, to the e-shop’s credit – I found and liked the variety it offers. I didn't get into Contact us – so no comment on that, but as it appears on web-based recos it seems good enough. Delivery time is fantastic – when most of the shop-clubs ask for 30-40 days of delivery time, Qvendo promises to deliver within 9-10 days that too when it’s an international FedEx dispatch. As the items are from the international luxury class, one should not make hue and cry about the Rs 900 as shipping charges; but you know, the poor me – didn’t like it :/ As a Diwali offer, they are providing free shipping, hoo-la-la :P

All said, how will I spend the prize money of this contest (surely, if I win ;))? I am not very much into online apparel-shopping, mostly because whatever they quote, sizes vary across brands. Same goes true with shoes. I am also not in Perfume thing too. So, though I haven’t got a range of watches and glasses, I do love to have more then a few in my collection. If not available, I won’t mind to spend the bounty on some Dolce & Gaban or Armani jeanswear or so, few inches here or there, who can deny these loevables in his wardrobe! *shy* And, if it’s all about browsing through available catalogue and list the items, it would include a Tommy Hilfiger Purse Black, Hamlet Derby Shoe Vintage Grey, and a Porsche Design Purse Cognac. With their latest catalog on Sale, here's my Shopping cart, well within Rs. 50,000/-, which I will soon update... :)

Well, when the festival season is just starting, wouldn't it be a great fun shopping Internationa Luxury at almost throwaway prices?

Just one last thing, get indulged---it's shopping and hell-addictive...

Banned Indian Books

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high; Where knowledge is free; Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls; Where words come out from the depth of truth... Few days back when I came to know about a book on an Indian Business Barron on the Banned Indian Books’ List, the first thing that came in my mind were the lines from Tagore . What an irony, we live in a country, whose forefathers have dreamt about a nation without fear, about a nation with right to speech, right to knowledge; and where the Government enjoys the “privilege” to “freely” ban the books, censor what it feels offensive! Wikipedia describes Banned books as the books whose free access is not permitted. Further it says that the practice of banning books is just another form of censorship, and often has political, religious or moral motivations. In our country, banning books have got its history since the British rule days. In fact, few of the Books

...not just Right, it's My time to visit Melbourne NOW!

‘ Sir, wake up, it’s Victoria ’ some sort of voice-management, of course with due courtesy, and it banged on my ears again ‘ Sir? It’s Victoria, didn’t you want to get down here… ’ Fighting the universal conspiracy, I tried opening my eyes and listening to the conductor simultaneously,   yeaah multi-tasking ! ‘ Oh, yeah, thank you! Thanks !’ a formal smile, rubbed shoulders (it wasn’t crowded, I was yet sleepy) rubbing my eyes I stepped down of the tram. “ Wooo….Man! Where I am? This is not Kolakata, forget it, this is not even India !” I stepped down apparently from Kolkata Tramway at   Maidan   near Victoria Memorial, but it wasn’t the same. There was no   maidan , no typical Kolkata traffic, no Victoria Memorial and it was something else. Fishy! No it wasn’t fishy. I looked back at Tram, it wasn’t like Tram either. Highway 31 Bikers' Restaurant ‘ Have I had grass? No, neva! So, how did I disembark a metro when I picked up a tram an hour ago? ’ I

Riders of the Nation of a Billion - Dimensions and Horizons

Incidentally I wrote a post of my tranformation from just around the corner corporate junkie into a Rider (for sure, still gradually) few days ago. Now, here are the Indibloggers with a Contest for the Bikers of the Nation with Castrol guys . Evolving Biker Code of the Nation When you look at the scenario of Biking in a general sense, you would be attracted by the road-rowdies and rookies who ride to spread nuisance and are mostly acknowledged for their deeds by the newspaper. Hooligans may be the right word. But, once you get involved with the passion, you would be able to see how the passion of Biking, or rather Riding, is evolving in the country where 2-wheelers over-power 4-wheelers by scores of galactic height, but have never earned respect on highways just coz they are the smallest-speeding machine there! I would try to let you through the Indian Riders tale, so that you  be able to appreciate how the riders of the Country are working, though in a segregative way
