A Wow Drive and Photography Experience with Tata Storme around....Indiblogger TataStorme XtremeDrive Blogger’s Meet

Another Indiblogger Meet within a week, a week rough enough to push someone to bed-rest. It was a so called weekend meet on Saturday, which never been a weekend to me, sponsored on adrenaline by the Tata Storme. Now, comes the eternal question – “to have an adventurous ride (sorry Shaktiman for calling it a ride) in the Mumbai town for the Meet – that could be ‘not to be missed one’ type of OR head to room, idle on the couch watching TV and take a much needed rest. I took the decision any machine-sane could have, went for the Meet at aptly named Chitrakoot Grounds, Andheri West. If it wouldn't have been Samir, I would have taken few lightyears to reach the place which though is well known in this part of town, can only be reached beating trafu*ked maze-like roads.

Anyways, the Indiblogger TataStorme XtremeDriveBlogger’s Meet has already started by the time we reached the place. Interestingly BlogwatiG and many others too had their own part of struggle reaching the place :) it soothes you somehow. Hurr-Hurr ritual has already been taken care of and there was some talk of teams. Oblivion to most of the happenings, we joined Adi’s team (which we later discovered was Team ROAR).
Next task was to tow the mighty Tata Storme, and we were the last team out of 6 to attempt so and completed the task with the 2nd Best timing moving into the next round of Tug-o-war.

Notwithstanding our enormous strength coupled with the mighty’ness of Tata Storme, rope took a number of recesses and finally torn apart leaving the Top 2 teams’ fate on coin’s flip.
Sun had already bid adieu when we were told to proceed to the Centre Stage where the real adrenaline show was set up. In front of us were oddly set ramps, a bridge with a 60 degree ascent, a ramp with a 4 degree inclination and a big see-saw. The scene was enough to tell what the hell we were going to witness.

The Machine – The Monster – The TATA Storme
The Storme I boarded was driven by Dheeraj - a cool at head and high on gears guy. First reaction while entering the majestica was just Wow! Blue lit dashboard wasn’t only solving the purpose conveniently but has got an appreciatingly awesome appearance. Dheeraj was all eager explain the SUV to us. It was the Top variant model with a 2.2L VARICOR engine all to deliver 140PS power & 320 Nm Torque. It’s not just high on power but also fuel-efficient thanks to Variable Turbine Technology (VTT) incorporated in the turbocharger that generates a higher

air density at low engine speeds, allowing a greater input of fuel for the same air-fuel ratio. Not much into machine, most of what he spoke was jargon – but I loved his passion for it was so much impressive and motivating to make my mind to have one asap. Similar was Samir’s feelings. Well, he served us a great drive, letting the monster ascent on its own that 60-degree bridge and then descend down, without applying brakes, on its own. All thanks to the electronic "shift-on-fly" feature, that engages 4WD on the SUV. It was rechecked on that ramp of 45degree inclination putting the 4WD on real balance test, tested again on the silly see-saw. Later on the off-roading, we devoured the high ground clearance, superb ABS and best in class turning radius.

Verdict
Post that book-review (!), I have started feeling like a damn critique. Damn it! Well, this machine is all one can dream of, rich leather interiors combined with a monstrous yet efficient on fuel and balanced 4WD system. I AM NO EXPERT, BUT SERIOUSLY BELIEVE MOST OF THE TIMES IT’S THE FIRST LOOK THAT LEAVES THE BEST IMPRESSION – AND STORME KNOWS THAT WELL!

Banned Indian Books

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high; Where knowledge is free; Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls; Where words come out from the depth of truth... Few days back when I came to know about a book on an Indian Business Barron on the Banned Indian Books’ List, the first thing that came in my mind were the lines from Tagore . What an irony, we live in a country, whose forefathers have dreamt about a nation without fear, about a nation with right to speech, right to knowledge; and where the Government enjoys the “privilege” to “freely” ban the books, censor what it feels offensive! Wikipedia describes Banned books as the books whose free access is not permitted. Further it says that the practice of banning books is just another form of censorship, and often has political, religious or moral motivations. In our country, banning books have got its history since the British rule days. In fact, few of the Books

...not just Right, it's My time to visit Melbourne NOW!

‘ Sir, wake up, it’s Victoria ’ some sort of voice-management, of course with due courtesy, and it banged on my ears again ‘ Sir? It’s Victoria, didn’t you want to get down here… ’ Fighting the universal conspiracy, I tried opening my eyes and listening to the conductor simultaneously,   yeaah multi-tasking ! ‘ Oh, yeah, thank you! Thanks !’ a formal smile, rubbed shoulders (it wasn’t crowded, I was yet sleepy) rubbing my eyes I stepped down of the tram. “ Wooo….Man! Where I am? This is not Kolakata, forget it, this is not even India !” I stepped down apparently from Kolkata Tramway at   Maidan   near Victoria Memorial, but it wasn’t the same. There was no   maidan , no typical Kolkata traffic, no Victoria Memorial and it was something else. Fishy! No it wasn’t fishy. I looked back at Tram, it wasn’t like Tram either. Highway 31 Bikers' Restaurant ‘ Have I had grass? No, neva! So, how did I disembark a metro when I picked up a tram an hour ago? ’ I

Trekking Ghansoli Gawli Dev (Parsik) Hill

It’s been there for geological ages, we have been looking at it for last about 4years and I have been planning to trek it since a long time. Finally, few weeks back, we trekked the Ghansoli Hill. Ghansoli Hill is located at the eastern boundary of Ghansoli town, behind our office complex at RCP. The hill or better hillock is a part of small range that separates Kalyan and Navi Mumbai towns. A search on Google Map returns with a name Parsik Hill for it, though there is one more rather famous Parsik Hill in Navi Mumbai. We also found a NewsArticle , that talks about NMMC plans to develop Nature Awareness Centre at this hills and calls it Gawli Dev Hill. Here, we would be calling it Ghansoli Hill . I asked my colleague about it and he readily agreed. The very next Sunday we did it with another friend. We weren't aware of the route. All we knew is that a Central Road runs along the western edge of the hill and can be reached through the Vashi-Mhape road. We later found that there’
