Another addition to List of Banned Indian Books "Great Soul: Mahatma Gandhi..."

Great Soul: Mahatma Gandhi and His Struggle with India"Great soul: Mahatma Gandhi and his struggle with India” by Joseph Lelyveld, is the recent entrant to the List of banned Indian Books. What’s interestingly peculiar about this Pulitzer prize-winning author’s book is that probably none, who justified the ban, have read the book; and this imposition is all based on some British tabloid review.


I haven’t read the book, but a few reviews of learned Indians who read it, plainly talks about a homoerotic relationship between Gandhi and Kallenbach as seen by the author through Mahatma’s letters. To some, the term may appear as a gamble of words, my question is what’s wrong even if Gandhi ji was a bisexual. Now, when we are changing into a nation that allows homosexuality, wouldn’t it be dramatically non-sense to question Gandhi ji’s inclination? In fact, don’t we adore our same-sex friends for their beauty, figure or physique? Does all that mean we are sexually inclined towards them? Bullshit!
Regarding the racist comment, not much is discussed online by the reviewers of the book. But, as one of the reviews says, the Book is about Making of Mahatma, it’s very much expected that Mahatma Gandhi was born a common man and would had struggled over his own way of thinking before transforming into what he’s been remembered and revered for.
Gujarat Government has banned the book, and probably Maharashtra may follow the suite. Appreciable is the move by the Government of India to confirm that the book wouldn’t be banned across the country. I feel this is the time when we should stop believing on someone’s words but strive ourselves to actually observe and decide what’s good and what’s bad. Those who have read about Hitler, criticize him; those who have read a few first chapters of Mein Kampf, wonder what kind of man he actually was; and those who have read the book and researched thoroughly on him know him very best, though with a due probability!

Home Quarantined Day - the Last 1

I am not at all getting in to exactly how many days I stay locked in this room. I did not complete the course, neither Dark Season 3, nor the Book and didn't click a lot. I just kept working, on this or that stuff, cold calling people, and watched a lots of movies and web-series. But not Dark S03 - it's too intense; 3 timelines now intertwined with 2 alternate dimensions! I love all these complexities, absolutely, but the series is too heavy. I couldn't complete the course I intended to - was not at all in mood. One day, however, I did set up the camera and the flash and the stand - but like always camera battery died, and I have been too lazy to recharge. A few random shots like the above one and the one below - I didn't do much. But, I kept keeping track of my body temperature and it never crossed the normal number. Home Quarantined Day 1

Nothing to fear about, I don't show any symptoms.  One call, rush to meet someone, a Cab ride --- called it a day! Two days later, the Cab Aggregator called me with a news - Driver has turned positive.  That one clicked the panic button, aah for my wife at least. We as a family are sort of locked down in this place we call our home with a 1yr old kid and my mother in law. Except for me, none of my family members have been out of the main door more than twice since mid-March. My wife literally tried everything to cut off from the social-mingling, new mom's paranoia, and yesterday the one thing that she can utter was "irony". Anyways, I have done what's needed - informed authorities (advised to stay home, quarantined alone), locked myself in a room and living a life of King -- wife and my mother-in-law delivering all that is needed timely. But, let me tell -- it's no fun. Most of the time I have no one to talk to, no one to argue on a nonsense news running on TV...
